Pisa One of the Most Visited Cities in Italy

Pisa is one of the most visited cities in Italy for its particular and beautiful architecture registered at the Unesco World heritage for years. You can without any problem visit it in a day. Here is my list of what you have to see in Pisa:

Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles)

The center of the city of Pisa is the extraordinary Piazza Duomo (Cathedral), known as Piazza dei Miracoli, built between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries, and gathering four monuments of great interest. That’s why in 1087, it became part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

The Duomo, the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Baptistery and the “Camposanto” are unique examples and authentic architecture of the Roanesque style, which has been then exported to Corsica, Sardinia, and the rest of Tuscany. The legend also says that at this exact place the luster for the encens that the most famous Pisan, Galileo, observed to create the law on isochronism of the pendulum. In reality, the luster has been realized few years later.

Finally, the Camposanto, the monumental cemetery is a must see with its Roman sarcophagi, its precious red ocher from the old frescoes.

The most famous monument of all, including abroad, is of course the Tower of Pisa, tilted a few degrees due to land subsidence, which began a few years after its construction. It is this unexpected feature of the ground, which delayed several years after the end of the work, and it is only now, after a long restoration work in the early years of the twenty-first century that its inclination has been stabilized. According to experts, it will remain unchanged for another four hundred years.

Piazza dei Cavalieri

It is another beautiful square to absolutely see in Pisa. The Palazzo della Carovana, a Renaissance jewel designed by Vasari, dominates the square. Today it is one of the most important Italian University. On the site, you will find the Palazzo dell'Orologio, the statue of Come First and the churches of San Rocco (Saint Roch) and Cavalieri di Santo Stefano (the Knights of St. Stephen).

Getting to Pisa

Pisa is home to the largest airport of Tuscany and is very well connected to Florence by highways as well as by public transport (buses and trains).

5 Things To Do In Ottawa

Ottawa is the capital of Canada. Located in the East, Ottawa is between Toronto and Montréal. It is famous for the Parliament Hill that looks really similar at the one in London. Being a quiet and easy-going city, the quality life is really good particularly for families. The biggest event that brings thousands of people in the capital is of course the National day during the first of July.

Here are 5 things to do in Ottawa:

  •           Visit the Parliament Hill: Up on the hill, the impressive Gothic-style Parliament is the centerpiece of Ottawa’s landscape. Overlooking on the Ottawa River, free tourist guide is organized every day. Go to the Peace Tower to get an amazing view of the city. Many events take place at the Hill during the year as the Tulip festival, fireworks for the National day, summertime sound and light projections and the Christmas lights like no other in the country.
  •           Rideau Canal: The canal connects the city of Ottawa to the city of Kingston, in Ontario. It is about 220 kilometers. Built in case of war against the Americans in 1812, the canal served first military purpose and then for commercial purpose. During the winter, the canal is open to skaters. Lovely bicycle path along the canal will bring you to the nice countryside of the Ontario province.
  •          ByWard market: It is the center of Ottawa where you can find local products as maple syrup but also vegetables from local farms. It is the meeting point of Canadians. It is a very alive district with restaurants, bars, clubs, boutiques and shops.
  •          Museum of art: The national art museum made with glass and granite located on Sussex Drive, has a varied collection of drawings, paintings, sculptures and photographs. Even if you will find many works focused on Canadian art, the gallery holds pieces from European and American artists. In 2005, a sculpture of a giant spider was installed in front of the museum.
  •          Gatineau Beach: During the Summer, the weather in Ottawa is hot and humid. Few kilometers away from the center, the huge park of Gatineau (around 35,000 hectares) offers many activities as hiking, cycling, boating and swimming in one of the several lakes.

Ottawa is a beautiful city transforming itself every season into a city full of activities and things to see.

5 Funny Things To Do In London

London is brimming with funny things to do – so, deciding what to do when only given a little time can be an understandably quite challenging task! We have scoured hundreds of options for the top five fun things to do in this electrifying city … let the Queen and Big Ben enjoy their tea time while we head out into the English metropolis for some fun.
Night Fun at the London Zoo
Once the sun sets over London, a new day starts for the night animals of the London Zoo. Check out their website for their Late-Night Openings. If you have ever been slightly frustrated by seemingly vacated enclosures because the inhabitants do not even think of setting foot outside before sunset – this is your chance to catch a glimpse of those shy night creatures.
Fun Events at the Hammersmith Apollo
The great Hammersmith Apollo is a decadent venue that started off as a cinema is now one of the biggest entertainment houses in London Many big names and great artists have been smitten with the attractively contradictory Art Deco charms of the place and VIPs and comedians from around the world are queueing up to eventually get a pass of the microphone as well.

Outdoor Fun with Parkrun
Like some exercise, but don’t like running by yourself? Join a parkrun! Parkrun organise 5km timed runs on a weekly basis all around the world, that is, also in several locations in London – and the best: it’s completely free! Everyone can join, just register online, chose your favourite location and off you go! A personalized bar code helps you keep track of your times, medical aid bonus points and much more.

Fun Art in the Carpark
Who said that museums and art galleries have to be places of hushed, quiet behaviour. We think this is a huge contradiction and want to send you to “Bold Tendencies”. Hannah Barry launched this alternative art place in 2007 on the roof of an old multi-storey car park in Peckham. Enjoy beautiful outdoor sculptures with a cool drink at the Campari bar, which very conveniently happens to be there as well.

Fun Dining in Odd Places
Boring old dinner needs to be spiced up a little? London offers lots of fun places for culinary adventures and a quirky scenery. At the Circus, for example, you get acrobats swinging over your meals and fire-eating dancers literally lighten up the atmosphere. If you are more on the musical side, you might enjoy Sarastro, an opera-themed restaurant with performances accompanying your meal. Or try Bunga Bunga, where you enter through an original Italian phone box and leave as Michelangelo himself.

The Horse Riding is Something Has Always Interested Humanity

The horse riding is something has always interested humanity, we have many manuscripts left by those who were interested in horse riding, mainly military or knights, dating back as early as 1350 BC with the manuscript "The care and feeding of horse chariot". The eldest manual is "About horse" of Xenophon. Analyzing the Greek and Roman history we find that knowing how to “Equitare” was an added value to rise in society, so Knights gained a certain nobility, and as consequence nobles were forced to learn to ride a horse to participate in the political and military life. The demonstration of the importance of knowing how to ride a horse at that time, is given us by the huge amount of in-depth texts on the subject, but with the advent of the internal combustion engine the relationship between man and horse changed greatly, as well at the beginning the 900 humanity stopped using horses to war and riding became a recreational and sport activity.

We can roughly define the following types of horse to be ride:
Work: this includes all the types of riding a horse carrying a type activities working for the breeding of cattle are mainly: American Cowboys’ Western; Butteri Maremmani from Maremma and Vaquera of the Spanish and Argentine gaucho.

Sports or English: includes those types of mounts that have to do with sports and the Olympic disciplines such as show jumping, dressage, cross country, endurance.

Riding classical equestrian art: that goes back to riding as the written texts of the old masters tells.

The main gaits of the horse are:
The pace is slower gait of the horse. The horse brings forward the whole body by performing a vertical movement with the neck and rests limbs one at a time, one after the other, so as to recognize four strokes. The step can be long or short; it can be distinguished by the fact that the socket back rests on the clue left by the front hoof, while the long wheelbase rests in front of the hoof clue rear of the front.

The trot is a gait to jump in two times, at this pace the horse reaches a speed that varies from 10 to 55 km / h.

The gallop is actually the fastest pace in three steps with variations relating to speed.

You can do many things riding a horse: there are sports as Polo, rehabilitation after injuries, help people with difficulty socializing with other people such as those suffering from Asperger's syndrome, have fantastic safari holidays and many other holidays’ type.

Many horses’ owner develop a very strong relationship with their horse: they talk, hug and take care personally of the horse needs. Of course if you live in a city you have to leave your horse in a stable with someone who will feed and keep your horse clean. A horse is not exactly what we call a pet. Never less as I said before very strong relationship often born between the horse and its rider.

My Trip to Gibraltar

About Gibraltar- the tiny British colony of Gibraltar, nicknamed Gib to the locals, or even the rock. The impressive silhouette dominates the strait between Spain and morocco; it was once one of the Pillars of Hercules, marking the western limits of the known world and in an ace position commanding the narrow pathway between the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans. I like to think of Gibraltar as Britain, but with a suntan, how it should be. There are double decker buses, policemen in traditional helmets and even the bright red mail boxes. Gibraltar was ceded to Britain way back in 1713 and Spain have been trying to claim it back ever since, but recently Spain and Britain have been having talks about a joint angle-Spanish sovereignty, imagine that all the humble trinkets of Britain with the prowess of Spain. The best thing about coming to Gibraltar is the fact you don’t have to exchange anything, everything is in pound coins!

Coming ashore- as you can probably tell, I came to Gibraltar on a cruise holiday a few months ago, I am determined to come back again, hopefully on Cunard’s queen Victoria in 2014 . Gibraltar has a dedicated cruise terminal in the commercial port. There are a range of facilities, a bar, a café, a souvenir shop (in case you’ve forgot a present for your mum on the way home!), an information desk, a bank and currency exchange and loads more, everything is here really if you have forgot anything or are in desperate need for something! It’s a straight walk into the main part of Gibraltar or take a taxi if you’re feeling lazy for around £2.40 a pickup and 15p per 200m, about the cost of an average taxi in the U.K!

What to do in Gibraltar - Gibraltar has a crazy mount of things that you can do, for such a small place, the two places that I like the best are- visit the Barbary macaques! These little monkeys are the most annoying, mischievous, cutest little things on the planet; you instantly fall in love with them. It is said that as long as the apes stay in Gibraltar, Britain will own the rock. You can feed them at either 8 or 4, where they will climb over you, be warned though, hold onto your handbags and try to avoid sunglasses etc. as they may decide to steal them! They are cheeky little creatures.

I love to take the cable car up to St Michaels cave, its super relaxing and thrilling at the same time. As soon as you can even see a glimpse of Gibraltar you notice the huge cliff and you instantly want to go onto the top (well I do anyway!) with views of Spain and Africa from the rocks pinnacle, I don’t think you can get a better view even if you tried, super romantic too.

Where to eat in Gibraltar- food in Gibraltar is amazing, imagine the belly of an Englishman, with the culinary skills of a Spanish man. There are two places that you must go to the first is called 14 on the quay and the second sacarello’s.

14 on the way is a new restaurant and are very sophisticated. The menu changes with the seasons, but starters such as lemon risotto and seared scallops and mains like roasted wild boar and the good old fashioned bubbled and squeak is all served throughout the year. The dessert here is the reason I’d come back, the creamy malt flavoured mousse with a chocolate crust and shortbread was sublime.

Sacrellos is Right Off Main Street, it is renowned for its exquisite coffee and cakes and for its awesome adjacent restaurant. There is a lavish daily salad buffet, as well as baked potatoes filled with many things, pan-fried noodles with broccoli, chicken, mussels etc., you could have the rack of lamb with wine and fine herbs. To end you must have a coffee with cream and vanilla, I don’t know what they do to it, but in my opinion, it’s the best coffee in the world. It looks like a traditional British pub with all the cosy fittings you’d expect.

Overall Gibraltar is the perfect home from home, it’s like Britain, but with added little extras like the sun, the sea and the views.

A wonderful vacation in Costa Rica!

Costa Rica flights, cheap flights to Costa Rica
Costa Rica Beach Resorts
Travel to Costa Rica can be simply a great fun. After all, who doesn’t want to visit a country as beautiful as Costa Rica! I had always wanted to visit this fantastic destination which had all the ingredients to make your vacation wonderful. I was traveling from New York. I got cheap tickets on US Airways flights. I reached New York’s LaGuardia International Airport to catch my flights to Costa Rica. After being airborne for a few hours, my flight had finally landed at Juan Santamaría International Airport, the primary airport serving San José, the capital of Costa Rica. The airport is located near the city of Alajuela, 20 km (12 miles) west of downtown San José. The airport has been named after Costa Rica's national hero, Juan Santamaría.

I was visiting Costa Rica for the first time. It would have been rather difficult for me had I not hired a cab with an expert driver. While traveling to my hotel on the car, the street signs were missing. I inquired my driver about this. My driver was a fine gentleman and quite helpful. He told me that neither city nor country areas have any street signs. This was simply queer and amazing, particularly for the first time visitors. This is indeed difficult for a person like me as I would have been lost most of the time. Finally, I reached my hotel, which was not pricey. I had a relaxing and comfortable stay here throughout my journey.

After spending a sound and peaceful night, I was now prepared to begin my tour the next day. I had a sumptuous breakfast and asked for my driver to take me around for sightseeing. My first stop was at Arenal Volcano. It was a smooth and interesting drive here. Along the way, I got off at a coffee plantation. I was curious to know how the coffee is grown, harvested and processed. The workers at the plantation were nice and friendly, and beautifully explained about the whole process. I thanked myself for gathering knowledge about coffee growing as I didn’t know this before. I also saw a waterfall on the way and asked my driver for a brief stop here. I had a gala time at the waterfall and had local strawberries as well.

The Arenal Volcano was often hidden by the clouds, as it appeared that day. Usually, the volcano is visible when the sky is clear. The volcano was active and I could hear the rumble at intervals and the sound of the falling rocks. I was now feeling hungry and had a great lunch. I was eager to see the lava flowing, which was proving to be difficult. I was suggested to stay overnight in the nearby town as most tourists usually do to see the lava flow from the volcano at night. I was indeed fortunate in seeing the lava flow with my naked eyes. The sight was simply incredible. The following day I returned to my hotel. This was the high point of my trip to Costa Rica. I suggest that do consider seeing the Arenal Volcano while visiting the country. You would love this!

Delhi Attractions that You Should Not Miss

The capital of India is a modern, vibrant and lively city, which is steeped in history and culture. Besides modern amenities, the city is replete with architectural marvels, heritage monuments, shopping areas and recreational opportunities that will delight every vacationer.

With the privatization of domestic airlines, today vacationers can get airline tickets for cheap on airlines that operate from practically all major cities and towns in India. The airport has two terminals, one for international flights and the other domestic flights. Nearly all major airlines, such as Air France and British Airways, have regular flights to Delhi. So reaching this city will never pose a major problem.

If you manage to get cheap tickets to Delhi, you should grab them. This will allow you spend less on your travel and enjoy your vacation even more in the city. You can check with your travel agent for flight deals that include accommodation, travel insurance and airport pickup. This will make your vacation even more affordable and ensure you have more money to spend on shopping and picking up beautiful Indian artifacts and souvenirs.

Be sure to visit India Gate located in the center of the city. It was constructed in 1931 by Edwin Lutyen in the memory of Indian soldiers who were killed during the First World War. Under the gate is the poignant eternal flame that has been burning since 1971. In the night, the gate looks beautiful, as it is lit up.

Many people look for cheap flights to Delhi to be able to see the Red Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built during the reign of the Mughal Emperor named Shah Jahan and functioned as the royal residence. The fort has two main entrances, namely the Delhi Darwaza and Lahore Darwaza. The fort’s architecture is beautiful and breathtaking.

Another World Heritage Site in the city is the Qutub Minar, which was built in 1386 and towers to a height of 72.5 meters. There are 379 steps leading to the summit of the tower. The architecture of the tower is in the Indo-Islamic style and worth checking out.

Visiting India and not exploring temples is just not possible. The city too has its share of temples and two are pretty popular attractions, namely the Lotus Temple and the Akshardham Temple. The former is shaped like a lotus and was constructed in 1986. The temple does not allow ritualistic worship. Instead people from all faiths are welcome to come and pray in silence and then disperse. The ponds and gardens in the temple ground are great for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city. The Akshardham Temple sits on the banks of Yamuna River and its carvings will enchant you. It took 11,000 artisans to create this beautiful temple, which is so huge that you would have to spend an entire day exploring it.

Finally, there is the Humayun’s Tomb, which is a fabulous example of the Mughal-era architectural style. It was constructed by the widow of the Mughal Emperor Humayun for his mortal remains.

Seoul - The city of Museums

Seoul is the capital and the largest metropolitan area of South Korea. It is situated in the North West part of South Korea. The city is famous as a city of museums. The destination boasts of more than 100 museums. The place is best for the winter season as summers are extremely hot and humid.

This city was not new for me as I had visited last year also during my winter vacations. It was a four days trip, and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. My family and me, we all love to travel to different places of the world. Hence, we are always looking for offbeat destinations. We are keen to explore the new places in this world. This time we chose Seoul as our destination. The trip was an ultimate experience.

Though the place for the trip was decided, but the main task still remained, and that was the reservations and bookings of flights and hotels. To be very frank, booking of flight tickets was the most difficult, and time consuming part of our whole trip. We don’t want some last minute hurry so we decided to book tickets in advance. All information of flight was gathered by us, but we were in need of some cheap tickets. As the budget was set aside by our family, and we had to enjoy this vacation within that limit, we started looking for cheaper options. We inquired about Flights to Seoul like British Airways and found some airlines tickets for a cheap price, but their services were extremely poor.

We came to know through a family friend that few leading airlines ply Cheap Flights to Seoul. As it was the vacation time and flights were full of the crowd, and that was the difficult task still we tried for our booking. By reference of some known person, we were able to buy cheap tickets to Seoul.

After a long and hectic process of booking finally we reached our destination. After reaching there, we had a great feeling of relaxation. First we reached the hotel and, after getting fresh we started our journey. Seoul is popular by the name of “city of Museum”. We found a number of museums there.

Myeongdong Nanta Theater was the first place where we visited. There we go through from an ultimate show performed by talented Korean group. I must say it was an incredible experience.

The War memorial of Korea was the next place which we experienced during this trip. That was a historical place. Here, we saw the military equipments used by soldiers in war. The place teaches us about the Korea’s history of War. In addition, we visit few more fascinating places of this destination and that was a marvelous experience of my life.

The city Seoul is popular for its Museums. Tourists can found more than 100 museums in that city. The city is known as the “home of Museums”. That is the best historical place and history lovers surely love that place.
